Thoughts of a graduating student;

First things first, you buy the ticket, give the ticket, then you sit to where you feel you're comfortable at, put on the safety harness, and finally, enjoy the ride. For others, the ride might not be enjoyable, others may feel like puking, or others will begin screaming from the top of their lungs, or maybe, some rode it without worrying anything, or maybe some prepared themselves first- gained their courage and took the ride with all their might.

In the end, all the people who rode the roller coaster have the same statement on their minds “What a thrilling ride!” And it’ll be the same statement that we’ll say by the day our high school life ends.

Yes, a roller coaster ride and high school life? Pretty much the same, I say.

I know the fact that once we’ve finished our four years in high school, we’re facing our future. I know that one day in our lives being high school students, we’re going to say good-byes to each other, we’re going to reminisce on memories that we built during the past few years- may it be bad or good, it’s still worth it to remember. I know the fact that one day, we’ll all be wearing again, white togas and graduation caps, singing some sad but inspiring songs, and set foot on the stage making some silly poses holding the proof of our hard work for all the years we spent in school. However, this is far different as to what we have experienced in our elementary years, since this is high school, after all.

High school taught me a lot of different things, gave me a lot of memories, and filled me with joy and happiness. However, being a graduating student for me was rather unexpected (or perhaps it isn’t). Even though I knew all those facts, I never knew that we still have to go through the woozy-causing-spiral ventures and that before we feel at ease, we have to scream first.

Being a graduating student, one should prepare on exercising his hand by writing different essays, lots of notes; gear up his mind for the memorization of all the formula, for the writing of research projects; he should also ooze confidence, for the defense of his research and finally, set a new body clock for a new sleeping schedule.

And being a graduating student, I’ve experienced all of those. There have been moments where I screamed because of too much frustration, moments where I didn’t really care about how I look, and moments where I’d rather choose sleep than eat food. I admit, it may be hard, annoying, irritating, but in the end, I’ve come to realize that I’m going to miss all of those. That I’m forever grateful to all those people who became part of my life.

The roller coaster ride might be hard, might be giddy for some, or may be horrible but in the end, it’s enjoyable, worth it, and fantastic. And the roller coaster that I rode? That’s got to be that best and the most thrilling of all.

A/N: Made when I was still in high school, obviously. *wink wink*
